License Terms

Draft — Prelaunch Legal Content. Last updated: 3 June 2026

Draft Notice: These license terms are a prelaunch draft. They have not been reviewed by legal counsel. Final terms will be published before software sales begin.

Temporary legal operator: Total Chaos is a trading name operated by Audio Lumina until the dedicated Total Chaos company registration is completed.

This page summarizes the licensing terms for Total Chaos software products. The full legal terms are contained in the End User License Agreement (EULA).

Perpetual License

Total Chaos software is sold under a perpetual license model. When you purchase a license, you own the right to use the software version you received forever. There are no forced subscriptions and no artificial obsolescence.

License Tiers

The following tiers are planned for CueForge. Specific features and pricing per tier will be confirmed before general availability.

  • Free / Reader — For learning, demoing, and basic playback. Limited commercial use.
  • Operator — For small theatres, schools, and solo operators.
  • Pro — For professional show-control operators and AV professionals.
  • Studio — For production companies, freelancers, and small teams.
  • Venue — For theatres, cultural centres, schools with multiple rooms, and production venues.
  • Education — Discounted pricing for accredited schools and universities. Education use only.
  • Enterprise / Attraction — Custom terms for parks, museums, and large deployments.

Seats and Activations

Each license includes a specific number of activation seats. A seat is a licensed user or organization entitlement. An activation is one machine currently running the software.

You may transfer activations between devices by deactivating on the old device before activating on the new one. Concurrent use beyond your licensed seat count or activation limit is not permitted.

Authoring activations (machines used to create and edit shows) are generous because real production environments need redundancy. Runtime/player activations (locked playback machines in fixed installations) are counted separately and require the Player / Install add-on.

Updates and Maintenance

Major version updates are included for a period specified at the time of purchase (typically 12 months). After this period, you may continue using the last version you received indefinitely. New major versions will require a maintenance renewal or upgrade purchase.

Bug fixes and minor updates may be provided outside the maintenance window at our discretion.

Early Access

Early Access licenses are offered at a reduced price during the development period. Early Access purchasers receive the final release version at no additional cost. Early Access purchases are non-refundable. See our Refund Policy for details.

Add-ons

Add-ons such as Interact, Animatronics, and Player / Install are separate purchases that extend the capabilities of Pro, Studio, Venue, or Enterprise licenses. They are not included by default and may be on the roadmap or planned for future release.

Restrictions

You may not:

  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the software
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
  • Use the software for unlawful purposes
  • Remove or alter proprietary notices
  • Use education licenses for paid commercial production
