Edit Mode
Edit Mode is where shows are authored. Nothing you do in Edit Mode affects a live performance until you explicitly switch to Show Mode. You can add cues, configure properties, set triggers, group cues into families, and preview playback — all without risk.
What it does
Edit Mode is the safe preparation environment for building and refining your show. You can create cues, configure properties in the Inspector, set up triggers and markers in the Prep workspace, and preview playback — all without any risk to a live performance.
Why it matters
The separation between preparation and performance is a core safety principle in CueForge. By isolating editing from live output, operators can experiment, rehearse, and refine without fear of accidentally interrupting a show.
Typical workflows
- Create and number cues
- Configure cue properties in the Inspector
- Set up triggers and markers in the Prep workspace
- Preview cues with transport controls
- Save drafts without affecting the performance file
Design note
Edit Mode is strictly non-destructive to live output. There is no accidental show interruption from editing.
